Liu Yixing, Director of Global Management Committee of Landing Law Offices
Landing Law Offices announced on July 12th that the law firm’s global headquarters would be moved to the North Bund in Shanghai. On June 23rd, Landing announced the change from a general partnership to a special general partnership, and increase in the registered capital from RMB1.1 million to RMB10 million.
Liu Yixing, Director of Landing’s Global Management Committee, told the China Business Law Journal that “Landing's next goal is to become a Chinese-dominated large and strong international law firm, and to break the European and United States domination in the legal services market.
Accordingly, after the restructuring of Landing Law Offices into a special general partnership, the partners have limited liability and there is no unlimited joint liability under any circumstances. This restructuring will enable the law firm to attract more talents and expand its scale.
According to the Administrative Measures for Law Offices issued by the Ministry of Justice, a special general partnership law office requires more than 20 partners to act as founders and assets of more than RMB10 million.
